This tea whisk is made by Chikumeido, which has been in business for about 500 years in Takayama, Nara. The chasen is created using traditional handcrafting techniques. Made from locally sourced bamboo and featuring delicate black thread, craftsmen meticulously choose top-quality natural bamboo, ensuring that each bamboo whisk is crafted without the use of any chemicals. This chasen is characterized by its firm and fine foams. The appreciation for the bamboo’s unique characteristics, which exhibit subtle variations, is a key aspect, as it enhances the aesthetic appeal of this beloved traditional Japanese tea whisk.
